Our Story
From specialized consulting to full-service excellence, built on a foundation of people-first values
Turnaround Consulting Services (TCS) was founded in 2008 by Kirk Burch, a recognized expert in project controls and turnaround execution. Originally launched as a specialized turnaround project consulting firm, TCS quickly became known for its precision planning, deep technical expertise, and commitment to client success.
In 2011, TCS took a major step forward, transitioning from a consulting practice to a full-service employer. This shift allowed us to assemble, train, and deploy our own teams, ensuring every project was executed to the highest standard. Since then, TCS has helped our clients achieve industry-leading performance in turnaround, maintenance, capital, and facility restart projects.
In 2020, we expanded our services to include API and NDT technicians, strengthening our ability to support clients both during turnarounds and onstream operations. In June of 2022, leadership transitioned to the second generation, with Kirk's oldest son, Brett Burch, assuming the role of President alongside his siblings. Under their stewardship, TCS has continued to grow while staying true to its core values.
From the very beginning, our founder placed a strong emphasis on the well-being of employees, believing that people are the heart of every successful project. That belief continues to shape our culture today.
Since then, we have added several software product lines and now develop custom tools and products tailored to the needs of our industry. In January 2025, the team advanced further into the inspection arena by launching new advanced NDT service offerings and opening two shops, with many more planned across the U.S. These initiatives build on the foundation laid by our founder and reflect the collaborative drive of our leadership team and employees.
